B2B data sources: which ones are really reliable
· Data · 5 min
The quality of your prospecting is capped by the quality of your data. An incomplete or outdated database wastes your efforts on the wrong targets. But among the many sources available, it is hard to find your way. Here are the families and how to use them.
The main families
There are structured databases (company directories, B2B platforms), public signals (job changes, funding rounds, hiring) and manual enrichment from the prospect's website and networks. Each family has its strengths and blind spots.
B2B data enrichment is precisely about combining these sources to rebuild a complete, up-to-date profile.
Cross-check rather than choose
A single source makes mistakes or ages. Cross-checking two or three sources - a database for structure, a public signal for freshness, a manual check for the contact - sharply reduces errors. The time cost is largely offset by the quality of the conversations obtained.
- Are free databases enough?
- To get started, sometimes. But they age quickly and often lack named contacts. For ongoing prospecting, a paid or cross-checked source quickly becomes profitable.
- How do you detect an outdated database?
- By testing a sample: if a high percentage of emails bounce or job titles no longer match, the database has aged. Better to know before sending everything.
Reliable data is data you cross-check. At Mooniz, we combine several sources to make every target reliable. Discover our services →
